Home Record: Could You Tell If Your Boiler Was Recalled?

Could you match a boiler recall notice to the equipment in your home? A photo of the equipment label gives you the details you need to check.

On November 3, Technical Safety BC reported carbon monoxide risks involving certain gas boilers in British Columbia. Separately, on October 29 the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a recall of certain NTI and HTP residential gas boilers manufactured by Ariston. Each notice has its own scope and instructions.

What to save in your home record

  • Manufacturer, exact model number and serial number.

  • A clear equipment-label photo. If the label is inaccessible, ask your service technician for a photo.

  • Installation date, installer contact, invoice and recent service notes.

  • The date you checked for a recall, the official notice and any repair or case number.

How to check if your boiler was recalled

Compare the equipment label with the exact models and any serial or date ranges listed in the official notice. If you have a match or are unsure, follow the notice and contact the manufacturer for guidance.

Start with one system this week. Save the label photo and latest service invoice together so you can find them when you need them.
