Organizational Aid Only
ShutSafe Home Kit is an organizational reference tool. It is designed to help users record information about the general locations of selected home shutoffs, controls, resets, equipment, filters, and service points. It does not detect, inspect, monitor, control, repair, certify, or verify any home system.
Not Professional Advice
Information provided with the product or on the website is general information and is not electrical, plumbing, gas, HVAC, construction, engineering, fire-safety, medical, legal, insurance, or other professional advice. Consult appropriately licensed professionals for inspection, identification, installation, repair, operation, and emergency planning.
Emergency Situations
In an emergency, protect life first and call 911 or the appropriate emergency service. Contact the utility provider when gas, electricity, water, or another utility creates danger. Do not enter a hazardous area, touch energized or wet electrical equipment, approach a suspected gas leak, or attempt a repair beyond your knowledge and authorization.
Gas Warning
If you smell gas, hear escaping gas, or suspect a leak, leave the area immediately, avoid switches, flames, phones, vehicles, or anything that could create a spark in the affected area, and contact 911 and the gas utility from a safe location. Do not rely on the ShutSafe product as a gas-emergency procedure.
Electrical Warning
Electrical equipment can cause shock, arc flash, fire, injury, or death. Do not open energized equipment or operate breakers, disconnects, GFCI devices, or other controls if the area is wet, damaged, inaccessible, or unsafe. Use a licensed electrician when uncertain.
Water and Plumbing Warning
Closing a valve may not stop all water, may damage a deteriorated valve, or may affect appliances, fire-protection systems, irrigation, pools, tenants, or neighboring units. Confirm the correct valve and obtain professional help when appropriate.
Accuracy and Updates
The user is solely responsible for confirming every recorded location and description and for updating it after remodeling, equipment replacement, property transfer, label movement, or any other change. Test and verify information during a calm, safe period with qualified assistance where needed.
Installation and Property Surfaces
The user is responsible for choosing a safe location and mounting method. Before drilling or fastening, check for wiring, pipes, utilities, structural components, and surface limitations. Included hardware may not be suitable for every wall or surface. The Company is not responsible for damage caused by improper installation or removal to the extent permitted by law.
No Guaranteed Outcome
Using the product does not guarantee that an emergency will be prevented, that damage will be reduced, that a component will be accessible or operational, or that another person will understand or correctly use the recorded information.
Security and Privacy
Location information and photographs of home systems may reveal sensitive property details. Store the product and any digital records thoughtfully. Do not include alarm codes, entry codes, passwords, or other information that could create a security risk.
Limitation
Use of the website and product is at your own risk, subject to applicable law and the express Limited Warranty. See the Terms and Conditions for additional limitations and legal terms.
